Cape Blanco, the western most point on the Oregon coast, is a very pleasant place to just be. This is a composite of two views I enjoyed, with both looking in generally the same direction. I enjoyed taking the time to draw the details while letting ideas come and go. The compass rose, ship, and fog developed during this process and turned into positive additions. Taking the time to revisit the area through the process of creating the drawing, having the sense of creating the place and feeling like I’ve become part of it is a hard feeling to describe without thinking that I sound as if I imagine myself being omnipotent. I find the feeling of closeness/oneness/accomplishment remarkably satisfying.
